a bit about myself: as far as my atheism goes, from as early as I can remember, I was taught Christian stories as facts by my grandmother. My parents are Christian, but told me very little about religion. I never could really make myself believe in God entirely, what little belief there was based on fear, a sort of "he's watching, you better not do that" belief. I was finally honest with myself starting a couple years ago, and call myself an atheist today.

random bits about my life: I'm a high school student, and I'm mainly interested in photography. I'm seriously considering pursuing teaching as a career. I was recently accepted into the People to People Student ambassador program, and if I'm able to scrape $7000 before April, I'll be going to Japan this summer, which I'm considerably excited about. I'm a chronic and terminal Irish music fan, though I listen to other things as well. A friend and I are forming a traditional Irish band in which I play tinwhistle, though we'll need to practice much, much longer before we sound any good. Those are the main things that come to mind.

Thanks for the info - sounds like you're involved in some interesting stuff.  I can't really call myself an Irish music "fan", but I do enjoy it occasionally.  I like the historic nature and sound.
